Graduate Intern – Full-Stack Applied AI Engineer
OpenVerb is seeking a motivated Graduate Intern – Full-Stack Applied AI Engineer to join our growing team. This role provides hands-on experience building AI-powered software applications using modern web technologies, cloud platforms, Large Language Models (LLMs), AI agents, and automation frameworks.
The successful candidate will work across the full software development lifecycle, developing front-end interfaces, backend services, APIs, databases, and AI-powered features that solve real-world business challenges.
Key Responsibilities
Full-Stack Development
- Design, build, and maintain web applications using modern front-end and back-end technologies.
- Develop REST APIs and system integrations.
- Work with relational and NoSQL databases.
- Build responsive user interfaces and dashboards.
Applied AI Development
- Integrate LLMs and AI services into production applications.
- Develop AI-powered workflows, copilots, chatbots, and agentic systems.
- Build Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) applications using vector databases.
- Conduct prompt engineering, testing, and evaluation of AI systems.
- Assist with model fine-tuning and optimisation activities.
Cloud & DevOps
- Deploy applications to cloud environments.
- Work with containers, CI/CD pipelines, and software deployment processes.
- Monitor application performance, reliability, and security.
Collaboration & Innovation
- Participate in product design and technical discussions.
- Research emerging AI technologies and identify opportunities for implementation.
- Document technical solutions and contribute to engineering best practices.
Desired Skills
- Recent graduate or final-year student in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, Data Science, or a related discipline.
- Programming experience in Python, JavaScript/TypeScript or Java.
- Understanding of software engineering principles and Git version control.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
Good to Have
- Experience with React, Node.js, or similar frameworks.
- Familiarity with OpenAI, Anthropic, Gemini, or open-source LLMs.
- Knowledge of AI agents, RAG systems, vector databases, and prompt engineering.
- Exposure to cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Personal AI, software, or open-source projects.
